Move over Ethan and Jenna, and Jeff and Jordan. The next reality supercouple to take on CBS’s The Amazing Race is engaged Big Brother couple Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly.
Villegas and Reilly, who are known by Big Brother fans as “Brenchel”, were sighted in LAX when The Amazing Race 20 began filming in Los Angeles on the evening of November 26, 2011 (RealityFanForum, November 26, 2011). The Twitter-verse has been lit up with posts and comments regarding their participation in the show ever since rumors began circulating earlier in November (Murtz Jaffer, Inside Pulse, November 15, 2011).
Brenchel on Big Brother
Brendon and Rachel competed on Big Brother seasons 12 and 13. They met in the Big Brother house and began dating during the season. They then became engaged and had to delay their wedding in order to return to Big Brother the following summer when a twist brought former houseguests back into the game. In the thirteenth edition, Brendon was evicted on Day 34, returned in a twist, and then was voted out at the next eviction ceremony on Day 48. Rachel went on to win the game, despite having given up on numerous occasions.
