With production moving forward on the much-anticipated “Tintin” movie, it has been reported that the main role may have already been landed by a young British actor called Thomas Sangster. News of a release date has already emerged in March 2008 (as reported on this site), and vague details of what to expect have come from the only confirmed cast member, actor Andy Serkis. However, British newspaper The Daily Mail* has reported that Sangster has already tested with the motion capture technology being used to make the film (similar to that used by Serkis in the "Lord of The Rings" movies), and has landed the part in the lucrative franchise. It should be stressed that no official announcement has been made, but the paper reports that the actor’s representation has declined to comment.

Thomas, Actually

The name may not be immediately familiar, however there’s a big chance you would have seen some of Sangster’s work. He appeared as Liam Neeson’s loverlorn son in the smash hit “Love, Actually”, and acted opposite his co-stars in that film, Emma Thompson and Colin Firth, in children’s movie “Nanny McPhee”. British audiences may recognise him as a schoolboy in TV series “Doctor Who”, appearing in the episodes “Family of Blood” and “Human Nature”.
