A new five-part drama is due to be shown on consecutive lunchtimes on BBC One starting Monday 28 March 2011. Called 32 Brinkburn Street, it will look at the lives of two families separated by eighty years at the same address in Manchester.
In 1931, head of the family Walter Ogilvie (played by Jack Deam) is hiding a bloody secret watched by his wife Gracie (played by Rebecca Callard) and mother-in-law Elizabeth (played by Maggie Steed). In 2011, Frank Ogilvie (played by David Ross) has lived at the address all his eighty years but does not know of the dark secret behind the attic wall.
Added to the mix are the mysterious Irish lodger Sid (played by Ciaran McMenamin) in 1931 and in 2011 Frank’s daughter Ellie (played by Eva Pope) and her husband Nick Milliner (played by Joe Dixon), who have recently moved back to the house. Nick’s teenage daughter Poppy (played by Tisha Merry) has also moved in.
